When I was very young, I can remember my father taking photographs, and how much it inspired me. I grew up in a very creative home, and self-expression was strongly encouraged. I received my first camera as an 8-year-old birthday present, from my grandpa Eli.
Since then, I have been inspired by people and their subtle expressions, in moments that are un-posed, natural, and luminous. As I photograph, I’m looking and waiting for the moments in between. That’s when I know that the image will be integral to the person.
I studied fine art and photography at Florida State University, followed by a Masters of Art Therapy at University of Illinois, Chicago. I am a freelance photographer, as well as working as an Art Therapist with children and families.
I am also the mama of a beautiful girl, Eva Rose. She has transformed my life and allowed me to really see.
I enjoy photographing people in their homes or a special place that evokes the most meaning for them.
